From Dance To Mortuary: Benin Local Currency Changer Dies After Following Emergency Lover Home.

In what began as a night of expressing top test feelings of love, drinks and widespread promises, ended in a morgue drawer in Benin City between two emergency love birds.

The incident, reportedly happened at Iyahen street, off Mella Motel Road Uselu Quarters, where the local currency woman, identified as Aisosa Gladys, visited her love bird for the first time and could not return to tell the story.

The relationship, according to eyewitnesses and family members of the deceased could barely exist for four days when the Female partner Aisosa died.

It was learned that the woman complained of a headache late at night while she was with her partner, ( name withheld).

It was said that upon her complaints the partner was able to administer her some paracetamol for an expected relief.

According to the source who said he got the narratives from the deceased partner, said when the Headache persisted, she was rushed to the Emergency Unit of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, where she later succumbed to the yet to be disclosed course of her death.

The lover, who later went to the Divisional Police Headquarter at Ugbowo to report himself and establish the incident, was however, detained before he was taken into custody of the Divisional police office at textil mill road whose jurisdiction covers the point of incidence to obtain his statement.

The case, part of a disturbing trend in Benin, drew a somber crowd to Ugbowo Police Station yesterday, as family members, neighbors, and sympathizers gathered to mourn a life cut short. “Why did it have to end like this?” echoed through the throng, many of whom knew the victim as a familiar face in the local currency hucking exchange market.

Although the police admitted to have the suspect in their custody, no statement has been issued to validate the actual course of the death of the deceased as an inquest to the course of her death continues.
