As the Coach Eric Chelle tutored Nigeria team; the Super Eagles prepare to tackle the Desert Foxes of Algeria on Saturday, 10 January, 2026, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has joined countless fans and supporters to solidarize and wish them well.

The Super Eagles on Monday, 5 January, 2026 defeated the Mozambique team 4-0 in Fez to set up the quarter finals battle against the Algeria Desert Foxes in Marrakech.

Okpebholo’s message

Huge congratulations to the Super Eagles on their impressive win to book their place in the quarter finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

This victory comes as a perfect NEW YEAR GIFT, boosting the nation’s morale and reinforcing the fans’ devotion to the team.

I watched them display exceptional character on the field, putting behind them not making the World Cup and putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians since the kick off of this tournament.

I also want to admonish the boys to remain in unity and keep pushing on as they prepare for another decisive round of the tournament.

Let’s keep the momentum going, Super Eagles!

Keep Soaring!
