APC loses members in road crash, several injured going to Congress

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, 25 March, 2026 suffered the loss of no less than four members in road crash while many sustained injuries of varying degrees.

The Benue State Chapter of the APC lost three youth leaders from Ogbadibo Local Government Area while travelling to Lafia, Nasarawa State to attend the Party’s North Central Zonal Congress, reports say.

The victims were said to have been identified as Hon. Anawo Benjamin of Orokam Ward 3, Hon. Ogbe Enemari of Ai-oono Ward 3, and Hon. Abraham Enenche of Olachagbaha Ward.

The fatal crash occurred along the Makurdi–Lafia road claiming the lives of the young leaders who were said to be on official duty of the Party.

The dead were committed grassroots politicians whose dedication and loyalty contributed significantly to the growth of the Party in Benue, it was said.

Also, the loss of one life and several persons suffering varying degrees of injury in another road crash involving delegates of the APC from Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State was reported.

They were said to be travelling to attend the Party’s North-west Zonal Congress in Kaduna State.

The dead was identified as Dalhat Machika, while those injured included a former Deputy Governor of the State, Hon. Sirajo Umar Damari, and the Party’s Chairman in Sabuwa Local Government Area.

 

The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, it was said in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.

Meanwhile, delegates of APC across the country, have converged on Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory for its national Congress where expectedly, consensus and affirmation will be held for the candidacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to run for a second term in 2027.
