On Thursday, 27 August, 2026, in Burkina Faso, Edo Queens of Benin-City in their second group game tackles Asec Mimosas FC of Ivory coast in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifying tournament.
The Nigerian Champions on Monday, August 24, 2026, were as ruthless as commanding thoroughly thrashing AS Garde Nationale of Niger Republic 7-0 in their opening group game of the tournament.
Promising to operate at the already established momentum, the team has vowed to be as ruthless as ever tackling their opponents from Ivory coast.
Stepping up preparations therefore, the stand-in technical manager Kennedy Boboye has expressed confidence in the team; assuring that the Nigerian champions will come out unscathed.

Coach Boboye asserts that the Benin girls will approach the game with the same mentality they displayed in the first game.
He added that he has no injury concerns in the team going into the encounter that promises to be explosive.

“Let me commend the girls for a job well done. I was not surprised about the goals. We did something similar during the Super 6, and in some of the friendly matches we played before coming to Burkina Faso.I hope we will carry the same winning mentality to the remaining games. Our focus is now on tomorrow’s cracker.
“We are ready for the game against Cote D’voire; champions tomorrow. We have no injury concerns. We are mentally ready and the girls are in good shape.
“I have told them not to expect anything cheap or easy to grind. Our opponents are no pushovers. We must be conscious and courteous going up against the Ivorians tomorrow.”
Time and Venue of game
The game against the former champions will take place at the Starde 4 AOUT Stadium. Kickoff time is 4pm local time.
Notably, should the Benin Queens get victory over Cote D’voire, their last group game on Sunday, against Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC will be a mere formality, having
qualified for the next stage.
Chioma Moses, Atume Doosuur, Aminat Folorunsho and Oluwakemi Adebuyi were all on the score sheet in the 7-0 demolishing of AS Grade Nationale of Niger and they are being banked on, to replicate that feat.
