Peter Guobadia, a 53 year old United States of America deportee mentally challenged, has been rescued by the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. Guobadia was found wandering along Airport Road in Benin City, the State Capital in a state of severe mental distress; and taking up its responsibility, the Ministry provided urgent medical care, and reunited him with the family.

"Governor Okpebholo’s prompt directive to the Edo police to fish out perpetrators of the Vegetable Market kidnap incident, and the swift response of the Police and other security agencies; that led to the rescue of the kidnapped woman and the arrest of a member of the gang, is highly commendable.”

Senator Ikpea was particularly pleased with the NDLEA’s public destruction of confiscated drugs which he noted; sends “a strong message to criminal syndicates and drug traffickers that Nigeria remains resolute in its determination to combat illicit drug activities.”
